About Brimfield Farm Winery
Brimfield Farm Winery in Clinton has operated since 1918, when Richard and Nina Hughes purchased the property. Bud Hughes ran the farm through 1982. John and Patricia have maintained it since then, working closely with a respected Finger Lakes estate winery to craft the program. The cellar spans Pinot Gris, Seyval Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Cayuga White, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, DeChaunac, and Catawba. The house also makes Hardcastle Apple Wine from New York State apples, School House Red, a barrel-aged blend of Cabernet Franc and DeChaunac, and Bog's Bounty from 100% natural cranberries. Tastings happen daily from noon to 7 p.m. in a historic barn hayloft. The mezzanine accommodates up to 30 guests for small gatherings.
