About
Sixty kilometers from Punta del Este, Bodega Garzón occupies nearly 10,000 acres in Maldonado. The winery itself, completed in 2016 by architects Bórmida & Yanzón, spans 15,240 square meters and holds LEED certification for energy efficiency and reduced water consumption. Alberto Antonini and Germán Bruzzone work with the program, which produces 500,000 litres annually. The property includes a restaurant directed by Francis Mallmann, an olive oil operation, and a golf course. The portfolio centers on Tannat, Viognier, and Albariño, alongside Balasto, the only Uruguayan wine to launch on La Place de Bordeaux. Since 2007, when Bulgheroni and Antonini first assessed the region, more than 240 hectares have been planted across over 100 blocks with distinctive soil composition and trellising.
