About
Weingut Blenz in Pommern operates across three distinct practices, each rooted in generations of family work. The fishing tradition began over 300 years ago when Peter-Josef Blenz began fishing on the Mosel. Today the estate runs one of the last and oldest fish smokeries in the region, processing trout and wild salmon. Over 6 hectares of vineyard across Pommern, Karden, Klotten, and Cochem are planted predominantly to Riesling, which comprises more than 90% of the program. The house produces high-quality Riesling sparkling wines using traditional bottle fermentation from estate fruit. A distillery rounds out the work, making Mosel-typical brandies and fruit schnapps. A Fishery Museum, currently under development, documents this layered history.
