Weingut August Eser has been established in Oestrich-Winkel since 1688, now in its tenth generation under Désirée Eser Freifrau zu Knyphausen and Dodo Freiherr zu Knyphausen. Both studied viticulture and international wine business at University Geisenheim. The winery holds membership in the Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter for over fifty years, managing vineyard sites across eight municipalities classified as VDP.ERSTE LAGEN and VDP.GROSSE LAGEN. The estate practices natural winemaking since 1688. The estate house in Oestrich shelters a historic barrel vault with walls from around 1650.
