Weingut Kappesser in Idar-Oberstein is the only winery in the Birkenfeld district. The family has worked vineyards in Rheinhessen since the 17th century. Wilhelm Kappesser's grandfather founded the estate in 1935, relocating here for love. Today Wilhelm Kappesser tends 1.4 hectares, producing whites, rosés, reds, sparkling wine, liter wines, and spirits. Wine sales are available Friday 14:00-16:00 or by appointment.
