About Weingut Stauffer GbR
Weingut Stauffer traces its lineage to a 12th-century monastic tithe farm. The property entered private family hands during Napoleon's secularization in the 18th century, and the house was formally established in 1790. Karl-Michael modernized the winery in the 1990s. Today, Alexander, Karl-Michael, Doris, and Carolin lead the program. Alexander studied at UC Davis and completed an internship on the East Coast. Karl-Michael holds a Diplom-Landwirt degree. Carolin is a landscape architect. The estate converted to organic viticulture in 2018 and achieved full organic certification in 2021. Low-intervention winemaking principles guide the cellar. Feuerberg vineyard, north of Flomborn, sits above 250 meters elevation on glacial limestone deposits. Goldberg vineyard lies southeast of town.
