Helmut Christ and his son Michael shape the work at this Franken estate in Nordheim am Main. Over 40 years ago, Helmut made the shift to biodynamic viticulture after witnessing severe erosion and health damage from conventional insecticides in his vineyards. The program is Demeter certified. Grapes travel by conveyor belt rather than pump. Juice moves into the earth cellar by gravity alone, without pressure. Michael, trained as a viticulture technician in Veitshöchheim, carries the practice forward. A tasting room welcomes visitors.
