About Schmuckenschlager
A small mixed farm from around 1860, Schmuckenschlager shed its last dairy cow in 1983 and committed fully to wine. Andrea and Johannes Schmuckenschlager have steered the family operation since 2006. Andrea earned her certification as a wine master in 2022. Klaus Schmuckenschlager, the cellar master and graduate of the Klosterneuburg wine school, leads the cellar work. The portfolio spans Gemischter Satz, Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Weisser Burgunder, Grauer Burgunder, and Chardonnay, with single-vineyard expressions like Grüner Veltliner Ried Göbling 2021 and Riesling Ried Schreiber 2021. A Riesling Sekt brut 2024 and a Riesling 2024 CHINA-Edition round out recent releases. The house operates as a Heurigen, open Monday through Saturday from 15.00 and Sunday and holidays from 10.00, serving food alongside the wine.
