About Le Fonti – Panzano
Le Fonti – Panzano sits in a horseshoe of vineyards directly below the town of Panzano, in Chianti Classico. The Schmitt-Vitali family established the estate in 1994 and have replanted all nine hectares of vines since, selecting for zone, altitude, and soil type. The estate follows sustainable organic agriculture practices. The cellar has been completely restructured with new technologies. The program produces 40,000 to 50,000 bottles annually, drawing on Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Colorino. The portfolio spans La Lepre IGT, Chianti Classico DOCG, Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG, Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, Fontissimo IGT, and Rosato IGT. Tastings and cellar visits are available March through November, Monday to Friday 10 to 18 and Saturday 11 to 17, with other times by reservation.
