About Clonakilla

Clonakilla is a pioneering winery in Murrumbateman, New South Wales, established in 1971 by John Kirk, a CSIRO scientist who believed in the region's potential despite skepticism about growing vines in the cool Canberra climate. The winery is renowned for its Shiraz Viognier wines, which were inspired by Tim Kirk's barrel tasting at Domaine Guigal in Côte-Rôtie, and is considered to produce some of Australia's greatest red wines.
