About Ciro Picariello

Ciro Picariello was founded in 1992 in Summonte, a small hilltop village in Campania where the Partenio natural park dominates the landscape. The winery planted Fiano on the slopes that year. The program now spans two vineyard sites. Four hectares in Summonte climb between 600 and 720 meters with northeast exposure, the original plot from which the house produces Fiano di Avellino Ciro 906, a single vineyard cru aged twelve months in stainless steel with frequent batonnages, then six months in bottle. Three hectares in nearby Montefredane, planted in 2002 at 550 to 600 meters with southeast aspect, contribute to the broader Fiano di Avellino blend, which spends ten months in tank and two in bottle. The portfolio also includes Taurasi from Aglianico.
