About Weingut Hubertus M. Apel

Winemaking in Nittel runs back to 1477, when the family first planted vines. Hubertus Matthias and his wife Elfriede advanced wine production. Their sons Harald and Hubert took over in 1988, continuing the business with over 30 years of collaboration. In 2016, the fourth generation arrived. Philip, Johannes, and Matthias now work alongside their fathers. The vineyard soils are Muschelkalk, shell limestone. No insecticides or botryticides are used. The portfolio centers on Elbling, Burgunder, and Auxerrois. A guest house adjoins the winery. A wine restaurant serves regional cuisine.
