About

West Winery opened in December 2007, founded by Chris and Jen West. In 2009, the operation moved to downtown Macon into an 1880s building, becoming Missouri's first urban winery to produce wine on-site. Ian Rice took ownership in January 2024. The program centers on Chambourcin, Syrah, Chardonel, Seyval Blanc, Vidal Blanc, and White Catawba. Signature Red, Chardonel, Seyval Blanc, and Vidal Blanc have each earned state gold medals or international recognition. The tasting room opens Friday and Saturday from noon to 9pm and Sunday noon to 4pm, and hosts First Friday events year-round alongside Third Thursday gatherings during summer months.
