Weinbau Ackerl KG has been family-owned since 1860, tending roughly 3.5 hectares across Ober- and Mitterretzbach at the foothills of the Manhartsberge. The vineyards sit on crystalline bedrock, granite and gneiss, layered with tertiary sandstone. Retz and its surroundings rank among Austria's sunniest regions, with sparse rainfall. The winery also offers a holiday house for rent.
