About
In downtown Kerrville, a historic 1890 building designed by Alfred Giles and Captain Charles Schreiner holds layers of Texas history. It served as a Masonic Lodge until 1927, then became Kerrville's post office and general store under Florence Butt, mother of HEB founders Howard E. and Charles Butt. Most recently, Dell Sheftall's Jewelers occupied the space until 2017. Now it houses Turtle Creek Olives & Vines, a family-owned operation producing 100% Texas estate-grown wines alongside artisanal extra virgin olive oil. The downtown tasting room at 211 Earl Garrett St. opens Tuesday through Saturday from noon to eight. A vineyard location at 183 Fall Creek Rd. operates Friday through Monday from noon to six. The menu features artisanal bites crafted to complement the wines.
