About TOR
TOR Napa Valley, established in 2001 by Tor Kenward and his wife Susan, is located in Napa Valley. Tor's extensive background in the wine industry began in 1975 as a wine buyer and included a 27-year tenure at Beringer Winery, where he developed relationships with notable winemakers and chefs. Susan, a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, has a diverse career, including co-founding a renowned provisions company and authoring cookbooks.
TOR specializes in premium single-vineyard Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from some of Napa's top sites, particularly hillside vineyards. Although they do not own vineyards, Tor is actively involved in vineyard management, focusing on minimal intervention winemaking practices, such as using indigenous yeasts and avoiding fining or filtering.
Visitors can expect a tasting experience that highlights the meticulous approach to winemaking. Notable wines include the 2022 TOR Chardonnay from Hyde Vineyard, known for its rich flavors and bright acidity, and various Cabernet Sauvignons that showcase the unique characteristics of their respective vineyards, such as the 2019 Tierra Roja and the 2021 Beckstoffer To Kalon.
