Founded in the 12th century by Ruggero d'Altavilla, this Sicilian estate sits in the Madonie mountains. The work follows biodynamic philosophy and organic techniques, with Demeter certification and observance of lunar and planetary cycles in the vineyard. A 750-square-meter photovoltaic system covers 80% of energy needs. Wastewater from winemaking returns to irrigate the land. Two restaurants, La Corte dell'Abate and Passioni e Tentazioni, use produce from the abbey's garden. The wines have earned prestigious international recognition.
