About Tempest Cellars, Wildcat Wines
Tempest Cellars and Wildcat Wines opened in Castalia in January 2025, built on land the Burgess family has worked for generations. The property previously grew tobacco and lumber before transitioning to muscadine vines under winemaker Joe Burgess, who studied enology and viticulture at Walla Walla Community College. A family-owned and Veteran-owned operation, the house features a tasting room and a Founder's Club membership program.
