About T-OINOS Winery & Vineyards
Open every day, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Alexander Avatangelos and Gérard Margeon founded T-OINOS in 1999, though vineyard planting didn't begin until 2002. The first wine emerged in 2008, bottled the following year. The winery sits on the Stegasta Plateau at 470 meters elevation on Tinos, an island with deep wine roots. Ancient wine presses dating back 4,000 BC have been unearthed here. In 1768, the island produced 20 different wines. By 1909, production reached 30,000 barrels annually. Thanos Georgilas, who trained at Château Latour and Opus One, leads the cellar. Michalis Tzanoulinos, a native of the local village Falatados, manages the vineyards. French consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt joined in 2016.
