About
Superior Culture opened in 2020 in Marquette as a fermentation house built around kombucha. The program spans nano-brewed beers, Michigan ciders, local meads, specialty seltzers, jun, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic kombucha. Everything ferments small-batch in glass, stainless, and oak barrels, then bottles in glass. The kombucha itself starts with organic tea and sugar, cultured with symbiotic bacteria and yeast. Across the portfolio, freshly pressed fruit and vegetable juices, local grains and honey, herbs and spices are used in brewing and flavoring. Thursday through Saturday, live music anchors the room. Fridays bring outdoor shows. Tuesday hosts open mic from 8 to 11 pm. Wednesdays offer free pool and 20% off all drinks for students.
