About Starr Hill Vineyard & Winery
Ken Starr learned winemaking from his father beginning in 1952, then studied the craft across European wineries during his time in the USAF in the early 1960s. He founded Starr Hill Vineyard & Winery in 2005 in Curwensville, a veteran-owned operation. The portfolio ranges from 8.5% to 12% ABV, with Squatch Berry, a grape wine with natural huckleberry flavor at 8.5% ABV, and Bucktail Blend among the notable releases. Free tastings and vineyard tours are offered. The program operates tasting rooms in Curwensville, Clearfield, State College, and Butler and participates in the Harvest Host program.
