About
Slate Run Vineyard began in 1997 on a glacial moraine 19 miles southeast of downtown Columbus, Ohio, sitting about 200 feet higher than the surrounding land. Keith Pritchard, an amateur winemaker since 1981 and grape planter since 1985, leads the cellar. The program centers on 17 proprietary wines made entirely from Ohio fruit. Slate Blanc, built from GM-318 grapes (a Riesling hybrid), anchors the portfolio alongside Slate Blanc Reserve (Vignoles) and Premblanc. The house also sources apples from Hugus Orchards and Concord from another Ohio vineyard.
