About Salena Estate
Bob and Sylvia Franchitto named their estate after their daughter Salena when they founded it in 1998. Bookpurnong, South Australia is now home to one of the country's largest organic wine producers. Over 200 hectares of estate vineyards feed a cellar built for scale. The operation processes more than 15,000 tonnes of grapes annually and holds 14 million litres in temperature-controlled stainless steel, alongside French and American oak for aging. The house practices minimal intervention organic winemaking and holds certified organic processor status. Beyond their own labels, Twisted Sticks, ex-PRESS-ion, Nature's Source, gen S, Salena, and The Ink Series, which draws from Italian, Spanish, and French varieties, Salena operates as a contract bottling facility and bespoke private label supplier. The cellar door opens Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm weekdays and 11am to 4pm Saturday, and welcomes group bookings for private tastings and events accommodating up to 300 people.
