About Paul Jaboulet Aîné

Paul Jaboulet Aîné has worked the Rhône since 1834, building a program around Syrah, Marsanne, and Roussanne from La Roche-de-Glun. The house is known for Hermitage, Hermitage La Maison Bleue, and Thalabert. Red wines age 12 months in wood for Hermitage, 9 months for Thalabert, with the cellar drawing on five to six coopers for each vintage. The transition to organic began in 2006, reaching first certified organic fruit in 2016. By 2021, the entire vineyard had moved to biodynamic practice. The red cellar employs concrete eggs, wooden tronconical vats, barrels, and demi-muids. Whites rest in concrete eggs, barrels, demi-muids, tronconical vats, and Clayvers.
