Warren, Maine. Brian Smith, trained at Fresno State, founded Oyster River Winegrowers in 2007. All wines are wild fermented and unfiltered. The vineyards and orchards are managed organically. For the first seven seasons, draft horses Fred and Don worked the land by hand. The portfolio includes LaCrescent, Vidal Blanc, L'Acadie Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Marquette, Sabrevois, and St. Croix. Notable releases include Chaos and Carbonic Nation. Wine club members commit to twelve bottles yearly of seasonal releases and receive twenty percent off all purchases, plus complimentary shipping on case orders.
