Overgaauw Wine Estate is a four-generation family winery founded in 1905 by Abraham van Velden in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The estate is known for pioneering achievements including being among the first Cape farms to use French oak barrels, producing South Africa's first Bordeaux blend (Tria Corda) in 1979, and bottling the country's first single-varietal Merlot in the early 1980s. The winery focuses on expressing terroir through meticulous viticulture and winemaking practices that respect the land's unique character.
