Four generations of the Mounts family have farmed Dry Creek Valley since 1946. The winery itself launched in 2005, when David and Lana Mounts released their inaugural vintage, 500 cases split across Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petite Sirah. The 140-acre estate vineyard plants more than 35 grape varieties. In 2012, they introduced the Verah label, named for Lana's Russian grandmother and David's Italian grandmother. The first Verah release was a Rhône-style red blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre. Tastings happen outdoors with vineyard views. Reservations required. Dogs welcome.
