About Montagu Winery
Montagu Co-operative Wine Cellar Limited, founded in 1941, is situated at the beginning of the Little Karoo about 200km from Cape Town on Route 62. The cellar has grown from 15 members and 800 tons of grapes in 1942 to 41 members and 16,000 tons by 2017, maintaining traditional winemaking methods including the production of muscadel wines. The cellar has won numerous awards including the title of 'Champion wine cellar of the region' multiple times, with its red muscadel selected for the renowned Nederburg Wine Auction four times.
