Mitu Wines

About the winery

From the tropical paradise of Thursday Island to the red dust of outback mining, and to the abundant Country of Wadandi Boodja, reminds me that the path is simple, but not always easy. What I have observed across the continents I have travelled to, the conversations that I led in Boardrooms, Industry Forums, Government delegations and on global stages is that we are all driven to do what it takes to survive in the contexts of our own worlds, is that collaboration is our greatest opportunity for sustainable success. Without the land, there would be no grapes. And without both, there would be no Mitu. This wine is the culmination of my journey—a journey that began with the saltwater of the Torres Strait and found its home in the vineyards of Wadandi Boodja. It’s a reminder that we are all connected, to each other and to the earth. Every bottle of Mitu is a celebration of that connection, a tribute to the lands and waters that sustain us, and an invitation to savour the beauty of belonging. Its salt on my skin, its rhythm in my breath, its stories in my bones. Growing up on the lands of the Saltwater People on Thursday Island in the Torres Strait, I learned early that the sea is not just a place—it is a living, breathing connection to who we are. It taught me resilience, abundance, and the power of belonging. These are the lessons I carry with me, from the tides of my childhood to the lands of my future.
