About Meerlust Wine Estate
Meerlust Wine Estate has been producing world-class, terroir-driven wines since 1756, now under the guidance of eighth-generation custodian Hannes Myburgh. Known for its iconic Bordeaux-style blend Rubicon and estate-grown wines including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Merlot, influenced by coastal breezes and granitic soil. Visitors can enjoy tastings in a relaxed, welcoming setting at this seventeenth-century national monument.
Tasting Experiences
Standard Tasting
Tasting of full range of wines including Rubicon at R150 per person. Tasting fee waived for those who purchase wine. Reservations only required for groups larger than 10.
Seated VIP Tasting
Presented by senior team member in private seated tasting room at R350 per person. Includes full range of current vintage wines, older vintage Rubicon, and another Estate wine served in Riedel varietal glassware. Reservations required.
Old Distillery Tastings
Recently renovated Old Distillery accommodates larger groups up to 40 guests with choice of Standard Range or VIP Tasting options.
