Malteser Ritterorden

About

Mailberg holds the distinction of being the oldest property of the Sovereign Order of Malta. The estate was founded in 1969 and now operates across twelve individual parcels, each with its own name. Antlasberg, Blickenberg, Hochlüssen, Hofbreite, Hundschupfen, Janning, Rosenpoint, Rumpling, Schafflerhof, Vösenau, Zeiselberg, and Zuckerschlee together form the vineyard. The Lenz Moser high-culture system is used for cultivation across these sites. Soils are calcareous with loamy sands and loess. The location receives approximately 1800 hours of sunshine per year. Michael Rethaller guides the program, producing Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay, Blauer Zweigelt, and Merlot. Wine production takes place at Lenz Moser in Rohrendorf.
