Seven miles north of Fredericksburg in the Texas Hill Country, Klenk Family Winery was founded in 2004 on a south-facing hill at 1,800 feet elevation. The vineyard is single varietal Sangiovese, planted from clones originating in Montalcino and Chianti Classico. Limestone underlies the site. The 2020 Estate Sangiovese, 100% estate grown and bottled, aged 30 months in large oak casks and stainless steel. The 2020 Estate Rosé aged in stainless steel. The 2020 Estate Sangiovese is award winning and available at the winery for $30 per 750ml bottle.
