About

Seven acres of alluvial fan in St. Helena, gravel and river rock underfoot. J Tournahu was founded in 1976, replanted to Cabernet Sauvignon in 1998, and released its first estate wines in 2024. Rich Frederick and Nunzio Alioto are the winemakers. Alioto passed the Master Sommelier exam in 1987. The house makes Estate Sauvignon Blanc, Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, and Alioto-Tournahu Rosé. Cabernet is picked at 25 to 26 brix, finished around 14 percent alcohol, and aged in 50 percent new French oak.
