J Rickards Winery is located at the northern end of the Alexander Valley in Sonoma County and was founded in 1908. Jim and Eliza Rickards operate the property today, tending vineyards planted over four decades alongside original Zinfandel vines from the founding year. The tasting room, built in 1997, occupies a converted barn that once sheltered tractors. Tours move through the Old Vine Zinfandel vineyard and into the wine caves. Open 11 AM to 4 PM Monday through Saturday, walk-ins welcome based on availability.
