J Brix Wines was founded in 2012 and operates from a tasting room in San Marcos. The program makes small quantities of many different wines. The room opens Thursday by appointment, Friday and Saturday from 4 to 9pm, and Sunday from 3 to 7pm. Cheese, charcuterie, nuts, olives, crackers, and tinned fish are available. The house offers three membership options. A Monthly Tasting-Room Club runs $79 per month. The Monthly 3-Bottle Pickup Club costs $129 per month. The 3-Bottle Shipping Club is $119 every three months and ships to California and Washington only. Private events can be booked.
