About
Alapiani's Marani was founded in 2011 by three long-time friends in the village of Vazisubani, Gurjaani Municipality, Kakheti, 550 meters above sea level near the Mghvriekhevi River in the Alazani River Valley. The winery produces natural wines using traditional Georgian qvevri fermentation (a 10-ton-capacity marani with qvevri from 200 to 2000 liters), dry-farms fully organic vineyards spread across Kakheti, Bolnisi, and Kartli, and cultivates the soil in the old tradition using bulls.
