About

Numisi Wine Cellar-Museum is located in the village of Velistsikhe, in the Gurjaani micro-zone of the Kakheti region. It was established in 2010 when Nunu Kardenakhishvili and her husband discovered and restored a 16th-century underground stone-and-brick cellar containing 33 qvevri sunk into the ground, an arched wine-storage area, and an old limestone wine press (satsnakheli). The museum-winery runs guided tours with wine, chacha, and food tastings and cooking masterclasses centered on traditional Kakhetian winemaking.
