Askaneli Brothers

About

Askaneli Brothers traces its roots to Askana village in Guria, where winemaking by the founders' ancestors was first recorded in 1880; the modern company was founded when the brothers revived that family practice. The winery also owns vineyards in Kakheti's Kindzmarauli zone and in Bakhvi village near Ozurgeti in Guria, and is associated with efforts to preserve the rare Chkhaveri grape. Askaneli also produces qvevri-labeled wines, brandy and traditional chacha.
