About

Enkeni is a family winery in the village of Akhalterjola, Terjola area, Imereti region, that began producing wine in 2015 as part of a hereditary family wine-making occupation. It uses traditional qvevri fermentation on skins for three months from Tsitska, Tsolikouri, and Dzelshavi grapes grown on a small 0.3-hectare vineyard, supplemented by purchased grapes. The name references the Georgian folk name for September and the village's historic Enkenoba harvest celebration.
