Nika Vacheishvili’s Marani

About

Nika Vacheishvili's Marani is a family winery and guesthouse in the village of Didi Ateni, Gori Municipality, Kartli region, along the Tana River near the Ateni Sioni church, built in traditional style with local lime and stone. Vacheishvili opened the marani to preserve the winemaking traditions of the Tana valley, which date back to the 7th century, cultivating five grape varieties on vines that include old, endemic plantings. Visitors can stay at the on-site guesthouse, take part in educational programs on wine, viticulture, and regional history, and book wine tastings.
