About

Chibalas Marani is a family winery in the historic village of Ikalto in the Telavi district of Kakheti, founded by Paata Chibalashvili, who continues a winemaking tradition begun by his ancestors' wine shop and cellar in early-20th-century St. Petersburg. Wine production at the site dates to 2003, using qvevri up to 100 years old to ferment Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, and Mtsvane grapes; the producer also makes chacha.
