Shumi Winery

About

Founded in 2001 in Tsinandali village, Kakheti, near the Alazani River Valley at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains, Shumi Winery is known for wines distinctly Kakhetian in style, including Saperavi, a white Tsinandali blend, and a dessert wine called Zigu, with at least one qvevri-fermented Kisi bottling. Beyond winemaking, Shumi maintains a vineyard collection of over 400 indigenous grape varieties and a museum of ancient wine artifacts to educate visiting guests.
