About
Chelti was founded in 2001 in the village of Shilda, Kvareli Municipality, Kakheti, in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains overlooking the Alazani River Valley, and built a subterranean winery in 2006 with a cellar seven meters underground held between 12-16°C. Working with traditional methods the winery says date back more than 8,000 years, Chelti sources Chelti grapes from sandy-gravel soil and Gunashauri grapes from clay-loam soil.
