Heart of the Desert

About

George and Marianne Schweers planted the first pistachio grove in New Mexico in 1974. Heart of the Desert now operates the state's largest producing pistachio orchard, with more than 13,000 trees yielding up to 200,000 pounds of fresh kernels annually. Everything is processed and packaged on-site. The program extends to wine, with Chardonnay, Cabernet, and a distinctive Pistachio Rosé. Outdoor seating is available.
