About
Hawk and Horse Vineyards began in 1982 when David Boies acquired what was then El Roble Grande Ranch, a 900-acre property in the Red Hills AVA. Mitch and Tracey assumed daily operations in 1999. Vines went into the ground in 2001. The first release arrived in 2004 and won an International Gold Medal. The vineyard holds both Demeter Biodynamic and CCOF certifications. Cabernet Sauvignon is produced in handcrafted, very small lots. The Wine Society offers three shipments annually with no membership fee, members paying per shipment.
