About the winery
In 2002, Larry Jacobs and Marc Dobson purchased Hahndorf Hill and set about shaping its reputation for innovation and excellence. Their vision introduced Austrian grape varieties, including Grüner Veltliner, Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt, to Australian soil, establishing Hahndorf Hill as a distinctive voice in the Adelaide Hills. Over two decades, they nurtured the vineyards and crafted wines that spoke of both place and creativity.
Today, Hahndorf Hill continues that spirit of innovation with a renewed focus on the broader fine wine landscape of the Adelaide Hills. While Grüner Veltliner remains a cornerstone of our portfolio, we’re equally inspired by the region’s hallmark varieties - Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and other cool-climate expressions that showcase purity, texture and finesse.
This next chapter builds on strong foundations: the same respect for craftsmanship and the same dedication to making wines that speak clearly of where they come from.
