About
Gangl operates in Klöch, in Austria's Vulkanland Steiermark, where grapevines have been cultivated for over 50 years. The nursery grafts more than 50 varieties, supplying certified plant material from a 2.5 hectare facility established in 2002. Now in its second generation, the house produces wines alongside apple orchards spanning 6 hectares on south and east-facing slopes, growing Gala, Golden Delicious, Evelina, Jonagored, Idared, Jonica, Topaz, Braeburn, and Fuji. The program's PIWI varieties, Souvignier Gris, Muscaris, Muscaris Frizzante, and Cabernet Blanc, earned gold and silver at the 2021 Austrian PIWI Wine Competition. Gelber Muskateller DAC and Blauer Zweigelt received recognition at the 2021 Landesweinkost, while Gelber Traminer and Muscaris scored four glasses in the Weisswein-Guide.
