About Fritz Josef
Johannes Fritz tends 17 hectares across Zaußenberg, where loess, sandstone, and tertiary gravel shape the vineyard floor. Roter Veltliner is the program's anchor, expressed across six variations. The Ried Steinberg 1ÖTW Privat and Josef vs. Johannes, which took its current form in 2019, anchor the portfolio. A 300-year-old farmhouse became home to a 24-seat restaurant in 2019, where chef Marco Gangl has worked since 2022. The restaurant earned its first Michelin star in 2026. Fritz Josef was named Rising Star of the Year by VINARIA magazine.
