French Ridge Vineyards

About

Scott and Kathy Buente established French Ridge Vineyards in spring 2001 on 23 acres in Killbuck, Ohio, the first winery owned and operated inside Holmes County. Twenty-three thousand vines yield 13 grape types across 22 wine varieties, all bottled at 11% alcohol. The program ranges from fruit wines, Apple made from golden delicious apples alone and Blueberry at 100% fruit, to grape blends like Bonita, a mix of Traminette, Catawba, and DeChaunec. Frosty draws from Concord grapes frosted before harvest. Cabin rentals overlook the vineyard and include a queen bed, kitchenette, private bathroom with shower, private deck, and charcoal grill. Guided vineyard tours run Saturdays in September at 2pm.
