Franz Wechselberger established his winery in Kolsassberg, Tirol in 2015, working at 650 meters elevation with organic viticulture and a focus on PIWI varieties, fungus-resistant grapes. The program spans Cabernet Cortis, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and experimental plantings across approximately 20 tested varieties. The cellar produces Rotwein Cuvées, Gemischter Satz, Pét Nat, and the biodynamically cultivated Chardonnay aus der Silberregion, which took gold at the Golden Grape Awards in 2022. Johnny, a recent addition to the portfolio, earned gold at the International Wine & Spirits Awards in Spain in 2024. Meranser Reatl performed well at the Falstaff Bergland Cup in December 2024.
